Imagine a world where consumers knew the true environmental, social and health costs of their fashion purchases, and felt empowered to write a different story...
Our Vision: Imagine if everyone wore sustainably made and socially responsible clothing. Our Goal: Explore the effects of our vision on Global Economics, Global Environments and Human Health.
The mission of Beyond the Label is to educate consumers, designers and brands about the true health, environmental and social costs of their fashion purchases to empower each of them to write a different story...essentially to create more conscious consumers. WE ARE HERE TO EDUCATE, INFORM, DIRECT and CONNECT
Beyond the Label is an LA-based educational platform that connects people with solutions through books, clothing & interactive activations including but not limited to the BtL Tshirt Exchanges and Nutrition Label tees to answer the questions of what to do next once YOU are aware of the dire negative effects of the fashion industry.
Beyond the Label currently serves LA & US-based emerging consumers, age 18-36, female skewing. To date we have focused on reaching out to College Students, Recent Graduates, Young Professionals, Young Parents, Fashionistas, Designers, Clothing Manufacturers, Environmentalists and anyone who wears clothes and doesn’t want to contribute to a long list of global issues.
Fashion is the 2nd most toxic industry in the world, it instigates modern day slavery and creates excessive waste.
Beyond the Label first educates consumers on what to look for in a brand...transparency is key. Beyond the Label fosters and educates designers and brands to look for alternative ways to manufacture and teaches them how to implement ethical, local and healthy practices.
The short term impacts of Beyond the Label are much needed imperative conversation, awareness and solutions for a sustainable fashion industry.
The long term impacts are water savings, restriction of hazardous chemicals, cleaner water systems, balanced healthy ecosystems, textile diversion out of the waste system, reduction of cancer causing agents from toxic dyes to bleach to detergents to mordants, fairly-paid workers in safe working environments, and a respectful life, lifestyle & living standards for garment workers around the world.
Beyond the Label addresses the negative effects of the global fashion industry and brings hope and recognition to the amazing new technologies and regulations that are currently shifting the state of the fashion options readily made available to you.
